Matteo La Porta

Matteo La Porta is a dual US-Italian citizen and physical theatre
artist based in Friuli-Venezia Giulia with regular artistic residency
in Chicago. His work integrates Stanislavski's method, Shurtleff
technique, somatic practice (Feldenkrais), and experimental movement
(Butoh, Pina Bausch lineage). As performer, he has created original
works including *Lyle — The Diva Transformation* (Festival Libera-Mente
2026: Best Direction & Dramatic Text), *Marta, Marta* (3rd Festival
di Maricchia: Best Direction), and *Relitti* (ANIME SALVE Festival).
As director, he shapes ensemble-based and solo performance across
Italy, Slovenia, and Chicago. He teaches acting at Acting Studio Chicago
and holds specialized training credentials in movement, mask, and voice.
